Retta is going through a year of changes: Retta has implemented significant corporate restructurings and, as part of this process, the company has outsourced its ICT services. Retta's trusted partner Enfo has been an important support in these changes.
Retta and Enfo started their collaboration several years ago with cloud services. The service package has expanded gradually, and at the end of 2023, Retta adopted Enfo's Service Desk end-user services, as well as device management and lifecycle services. Retta values Enfo's expertise and service-oriented attitude.
”The service expansion was a big change for the entire group, but the implementation went smoothly and we received positive feedback from users. Enfo is able to deliver good service in such a change, and they have a good attitude when meeting customers and offering them solutions. This is not about individual people or services, it is part of Enfo's entire business model,” says Retta's CIO Ilkka Kemppainen.
Outsourcing ICT ensures continuity
Retta's trust in Enfo has strengthened further as the collaboration has expanded, and in June 2024, Retta outsourced its IT infrastructure services and service management to Enfo. The comprehensive package covers platform and information security services as well as Solution Management services to support the customer's business units and other stakeholders.
“Operational management of ICT environment and services is not Retta's core business, so it is natural to purchase these services. At Enfo, we have experience in similar outsourcings, and we were able to offer Retta suitable solutions for all areas,” says Rami Virta, Account Director at Enfo.
Retta's four-person team responsible for IT infrastructure was transferred to Enfo as part of the ICT outsourcing. The transferred individuals have been happy with the change.
”Enfo has received us very well: they have organized information sessions for us, and we have participated in Enfo's orientation process. This has helped us get used to our tasks and new work community quickly. It is exciting that we get to utilize our expertise in tasks related to Retta and gain new expertise with other customers,” says Solution Manager Melina Lindström.
“From Retta's perspective, outsourcing ensures the continuity of services and expertise – things are not as person-specific as they were in our own small IT organization. In addition, the outsourced services are well-established and the processes are in order,” Kemppainen says.
Corporate restructuring brought a new wave of changes
Shortly after the ICT outsourcing, Retta Group sold one of the group's companies. Due to the corporate reorganization, it became necessary to divide the Enfo and Retta service agreement into three separate agreements. The service package had to be tailored for each business, and a separate environment for service production had to be built for each business.
“This is a large separation project that we want to carry out as well and efficiently as possible. Enfo has played a major role in the project implementing the change in cloud services and end-user services. The schedule has been really tight, but Enfo has been flexible,” Kemppainen says.
In projects with many partners cooperation is essential
Retta’s other partners have also participated in the implementation of the separation project. This has required Enfo’s employees capacity to operate in a multi-vendor environment and take into account different partners, stakeholders and application vendors.
“Enfo is at the core of this environment because all users contact them in problem situations. Enfo is a very important player for us,” Kemppainen says.
“Corporate restructuring is part of the development of many of our customers and, at the same time, part of their everyday lives. IT services must function and continue also during major changes and transform with them. This requires ability for flexible collaboration and quick decision-making. It is great that we have been able to support Retta in these changes,” Virta concludes.
